He came to fix the boiler, but he never left. His flickering light brings as much terror to mortals now as his exorbitant call-out fees did when he was alive.

-Epitaph

Arclight is a Mane who can be encountered for the first time in The Calamityville Horror, bound to the boiler in the Hutz's house basement. If not freed during The Calamityville Horror, he will reappear in Poultrygeist in the same location.

If not freed during either one of these missions, Arclight will appear again in Ghostbreakers, trapped in the Electroplasmic Storage Device.

Appearance

Arclight is a tall man with grey skin. He has vacant, blood shot eyes and crooked teeth. Arclight wears off-orange coveralls, black safety shoes and gloves, a welding mask and a utility belt with tools strapped to it. He holds a welding torch in his left hand which is connected to a gas tank which is strapped on to his back. Arclight's coveralls and face are covered in soot.

How To Free

Arclight will become free after he possesses a mortal. Unfortunately, he is unable to do so due to the brick wall separating him from mortals. To break the wall you will need either one point of structural damage to loosen a single brick, or four points of structural damage to completely destroy the wall. (Stonewall can accomplish both. Either by using Tremor to loosen the brick or by buying Quake to destroy the wall). If you loosened a single brick, you will need a mortal to destroy the rest of the bricks. The two mortals who can accomplish this are Greg and Steve Hutz. If any mortal other than Greg or Steve see the loosened brick, they will call Bill Ratzenberger, a handyman who can loosen the bricks as well. When the bricks are removed, any mortal who sees the hole in the wall will interact with it, resulting in Arclight possessing them and becoming free.

If not freed during The Calamityville Horror, he will reappear in Poultrygeist with the same requirements.

Alternatively, if not freed during either one of these missions, he can be freed in Ghostbreakers by destroying the Electroplasmic Storage Device. (Work in progress)

Trivia

  • Arclight shares his base model with Static.
  • Originally Arclight, Maxine Factor and Static could have been freed in Ghostbreakers had you missed them in both The Calamityville Horror and Poultrygeist. Complete Edition however restores that.
  • Arclight is indirectly inspired by Jason Voorhees from the Friday the 13th franchise, as the creators wanted to take an everyday mask and make it scary, and in the end they settled on a welding mask.
  • Before fully becoming Arclight he was known as "Mad Mike".
  • Arclight's original Lay to Rest line goes unused as he instead uses an "End Possession" line for the event instead. The change likely happened as the original Lay to Rest implies Arclight would keep possessing the mortal who freed them which isn't the case in the final version of the game.
