The part of Electrospasm which was once Harold Smears, murderer, was all but burned from him upon the electric chair. All that's left is a polite, apologetic spirit of punishment.

-Epitaph

Formally Harold Smears, a man put to death for his heinous crimes, Electrospasm was the last man to be executed in the Hell Street electric chair...

-Beta Epitaph

Electrospasm is a Wraith encountered in The Unusual Suspects, bound to the electric chair he was executed on. If not freed during The Unusual Suspects, he will reappear in Ghostbreakers as one of the ghosts trapped in the Electroplasmic Storage Device.

Appearance

Electrospasm is a man with grey skin and brown, blood shot eyes. He wears a brown body suit with mustard colored stripes going through the right part of his torso and his left arm, as well as brown slip-on shoes. Electrospasm's face is disfigured. His left eyelid as well as nose seem to be missing. He seems to be biting on either an orange gag or a fuse. He is strapped to the electric chair with grey straps binding his hands, legs and torso. Most of the straps are connected to a large grey central piece on his chest. Electrospasm has a grey helmet placed on top of his head which is connected to the chair by two colorful wires. The chair Electrospasm sits in is a brown electric chair with a latticed net, two blue ornaments at the top of it and a power source at the bottom.

How To Free

Electrospasm needs a jolt of electricity to course through him to be set free. There are a few ways to achieve this. The simplest way is to break the electric switch next to the chair using Strange Behaviour or Wild & Crazy. Another way of freeing Electrospasm is causing a storm outside using rain and strong wind powers. Lastly, flooding the room with Flood and having Electrospasm use Spark will also set the Wraith free.

Alternatively, if not freed during The Unusual Suspects, he can be freed in Ghostbreakers by destroying the Electroplasmic Storage Device.

Trivia

  • Electrospasm shares his face texture with Blue Murder.
  • Electrospasm was inspired by the Scoleri Brothers from 1989 ghost comedy Ghostbusters 2. Both brothers are ghosts of murderers who were executed by electric chair.
    • More specifically, he more closely resembles Tony Scoleri out of the two.
    • Despite the similarities to Shocker, a 1989 Slasher of the same name made by Wes Craven, Electrospasm was not based on him as stated by Chris Bateman on his blog.[1]
  • Electrospasm wears a Broad Arrow Prison Uniform in his concept art and beta render.
  • Electrospasm's chair doesn't appear in mortal world until he is freed. He is the only ghost to create a new object after being laid to rest.
  1. "I don't think I'd seen Wes Craven's Shocker at this point (the only film of his I'd seen at this point was The Serpent and the Rainbow), so this is unlikely to be the inspiration" Chris Bateman, https://blog.ihobo.com/2023/05/origins-of-ghost-master-part-two.html
