Buck is a Horde who joins Ghost Master's team at the start of Act 2. He’s a ghost formed by the spirits of both the dog and the numerous fleas that inhabited his fur in life. He was supposed to appear as a bound spirit in Where There's a Will... / The Butler Didn't Do It.
Appearance
Buck is a brown Bloodhound with floppy ears, short tail and long, thin legs with a black collar on his neck. Buck's head shows signs of aging with his greying fur and sunken, red eyes. Buck's most notable feature are the fleas that riddle his fur. The fleas are visible at all times.

Buck was supposed to appear as a mortal dog in The Uninvited as Carter's faithful hound. Between the events of The Uninvited and Where There's a Will... / The Butler Didn't Do It, Carter would die and his loyal hound would follow suit. He would appear in Where There's a Will... / The Butler Didn't Do It as a bound spirit, staying by the side of Carter's corpse. He would have been then laid to rest by somehow making him come to Carter's spirit in a different location.

- Buck's owner is Carter. As stated in his epitaph, Buck died soon after Carter.
- To make the connection between the two stronger, Carter can learn Phobia which gives mortals fear of Creepy Crawlies, Buck's specialty.
- All of Act ghosts from Act 2 were originally supposed to appear in The Uninvited.
- Buck the Flea-Ridden Dog was supposed to appear as a mortal dog in The Uninvited. He would later reappear as a ghost in Where There's a Will... / The Butler Didn't Do It.
- Buck would have originally kept his full title from when he was a mortal for his ghost form.
- Despite having a band 4 power from the start, Buck can learn Twisted Vines in that slot according to game files and the official guide. This power was made available to swap to in Complete Edition.
- Buck was inspired by classic tales of a loyal dog that dies to join their master in death.
- Additionally, he might have been partly influenced by the US ghost story of the Blue Ghost Dog, about a blue tick hound belonging to Charles Thomas Sims.
