Never underestimate the malevolence of chickens. This gestalt entity's long term goal is to revenge itself on the mysterious mortal known only as 'the Colonel'.

-Epitaph

Building a residential house on the site of an old chicken slaughterhouse gave raise to this demented poultrygeist.

-Beta Epitaph

Hard Boiled is a Poltergeist who can be encountered in Poultrygeist, bound to Carol-Anne Hutz.

Appearance

Hard Boiled is an amalgamation of blue plasm and chicken feathers. It levitates and moves in an erratic fashion while leaving feathers behind itself as the child it's bound to moves around. Hard Boiled is comprised of spirits of poultry animals buried under Hutz's house.

How To Free

Hard Boiled will become free after every mortal except Carol-Anne flees the house. This is a simple task which doesn't require much strategy and can be achieved by any team with enough fire power. However, a Ghost Master should be careful of the medium that can be called in by any mortal (besides the children) after they been affected by ghosts. If the medium is called in, she will become a required mortal to scare off.

Trivia

  • Hard Boiled's epitaph references Colonel Sanders, the founder of the Kentucky Fried Chicken fast food chain.
  • Hard Boiled is the only ghost without Restless Spirit speech cutscene.
  • Hard Boiled is based on Poltergeists from the 1982 horror movie, Poltergeist. They both share their interest in Carol-Anne as well as being spirits of angry beings from a desecrated burial site below the house the action takes place in.
  • Unlike all other not found restless spirit icons, Hard Boiled's is a different shade of green and has a green tint as opposed to a dark one.
  • According to Narrator's intro cutscene lines from Poultrygeist, it is possible that Hard Boiled is also created from the spirits of turkeys, but that is never specified to be the case as they are called a chicken spirit by the narrator as well, and the epitaph only mentions Chickens.
  • Technically, the only requirement for freeing Hard Boiled is presence of only one mortal in the level. This means that if Carol-Anne is somehow scared away, Hard Boiled will still become freed when only one mortal is left in the house, no matter who it is.
