Lay the poltergeist's spirit to rest. Empty the house of all sane mortals.

-Objective

Poultrygeist is as scenario occurring in Act 2. It is the second scenario taking place in Hutz's house after The Calamityville Horror. We return to this place due to a restless poltergeist spirit in need of laying to rest.

Recommended Ghosts

If you had freed all the ghosts during The Calamityville Horror, this mission is a pure scare all meaning that you should bring your best haunters capable of quickly scaring away mortals. The recommended team is mostly geared towards that. Knuckles is an interesting pick for this mission as he can be placed on the TV antenna located on the roof, which will allow him to cast his neutral horror powers like Terrorise or Scared to Death on mortals who walk outside, providing a good outside coverage, which can also be done with Shivers for slightly less plasm but weaker powers (at base upgrade). Ultimately, it is up to the Ghost Master's preference who to pick for this mission, but some other strong picks include Firetail, Buck and Smokin' Joe. If there are any restless spirit left over from The Calamityville Horror, bringing in Boo and Stonewall would be enough to free every spirit present. Be careful as mortals will attempt to call in a medium after they get scared, making the process of freeing ghosts slightly more difficult.

Layout

Poultrygeist uses the same layout as The Calamityville Horror; however, the corpses of the murder victims have been removed. This only applies for each haunter you freed (for example, if you only freed Maxine and Static, their corpses would be missing, but Arclight's corpse would still be present).

"It seems that sinister events transpire around a certain family house in a certain suburb of Gravenville. Your previous success brought to light the grisly antics of an unhinged old lady, but the grim history of this house stretches further into the past... It seems that the house was built on the site of an ancient chicken burial ground - the pit for the Calamityville Poultry Slaughterhouse. So many turkeys and chickens were slain and thrown into the earth, their troubled essences await retribution. The troubled mind of one Carol-Anne Hutz, a child who has already witnessed your terrible powers once, has become home for Hardboiled, a gestalt of the headless necks and ruffled feathers of the departed. Aid this poltergeist in emptying the house of the taint of rational human presence and you will acquire a valuable new ally."

  • The level is a reference to 1982 horror movie Poltergeist.
  • Unlike in The Calamityville Horror, Marcia won't call the witches.
  • The level used to be called "Calamityville II: Poultrygeist", being a reference to the fact that the level is a revisit to The Calamityville Horror.
  • Ghostbreakers make their first appearance in this level.
  • While the three skeletons can be still discovered in this level if they haven't been freed before or during a replay of the level, the Hutz familly will no longer call the police.
  • This is the only location with a room being a fetter itself, with Maxine's room serving as a Murder fetter.
