Joe De Vito is a mob goon of Don Bartholomew and is stated to be a dangerous loose cannon. He like most of the mortals of Deadfellas, mainly serve as cannon fodder being entirely optional to scare.

He would have later appeard alongside his fellow gangsters Robert Conway, Ray Hill, Frank Batts and Tony Bunz in Field of Nightmares where they would have tried to stop the farmers from building the baseball field for unknown reasons.

- Joe De Vito is based on Tommy DeVito, a character played by Joe Pesci in a 1990 biographical crime movie called Goodfellas.
- Joe and the rest of the gangsters in Field of Nightmares would have had a slighly changed bio, saying the exact same thing as they did in Deadfellas but with an added "Don't let him reach the farmer!" at the end.
