Dr. Brunner is a mysterious figure who seemingly works for Dr. Krauss as his partner and advisor, however secretly seems to work for a third party behind the scenes appearing numerous times in the game without much explanation. She was build up as seemingly the third antagonist of the game, but whatever was planned for her seems to have been left a mystery.

- Dr. Brunner was named after Miss Brunner from Michael Moorcock's The Cornelius Chronicles who was described as an authoritarian techno-magician with a perverse pleasure in pain.
- It's likely Dr. Brunner was added fairly late as almost nothing in the beta references her existence and role outside of what the final game has referenced.
- Dr. Brunner is the only mortal in general in the final game who uses the MIB type.
- She's is also the only used mortal in the game who has references tied to the MIB in the text files, making her the only mortal affiliated with MIB who made it to the final game.
- Dr. Brunner has unused stats only used by her appearances in cutscenes where her stats aren't viewable being in Summoners Not Included, The Blair Wisp Project, and Class of Spook'em High. Furthermore these stats are significantly different from her non cutscene appearances having less willpower, more madness, and a bit more belief.
- Dr. Brunner was supposed to appear in the mission Summoners Not Included however she seems to have only been intended for a brief cutscene in the cabin's radio room.
