Story Role

While the Hospital Staff lacks a specific role in the game's story, they have been shown to at least in some way, work along side Dr. Krauss, letting him work on the top floor of the hospital during the events of What Lies Over the Cuckoo's Nest?.

However, depending on which source of information is used, the Ghost Master targets the staff for a different reason during the events of Phantom of the Operating Room:

• According to the opening cutscene of the mission, the reason for our attack is that the hospital is a place "where souls are stitched back into impermanent bodies without thought being given to the value of such a gesture".
• According to the official Prima Guide, the Haunter Committee actually has great respect for those of the medical profession, but only when they care about the patients they serve which the Gravenville doctors don't do as they only care about money and taking bribes from pharmaceutical companies.
• Back when the mission was known as Ghoul, Interrupted, the reason was different as well, as the Hospital staff were the victims of the Nether Spirit who was the actual target of the Ghost Master.
